EntitiesObjects

Objects

An Object is an entity in Home used by multiple different things. There are confirmed to be 75.000 (and likely over 80.000) objects in the entirety of PlayStation Home.

Security

The game holds a database of all of the valid objects it knows about. It obtains it from the Object Catalogue file, at startup.

Types

An Object is any of the following (list not exhaustive):

  • Clothing items
    • Hats
    • Hair
    • Earrings
    • Shirts
    • Pants
    • Shoes
    • Accessories (jewellery, glasses, headphones, facial hair)
    • Outfits
  • Furniture
    • Chairs and stools
    • Cubes
    • Flooring
    • Picture frames and posters
    • Lights
    • Ornaments
    • Storage items and containers
  • Portables
    • Companions
    • Locomotions
    • Animations
    • Interactions
    • Sound packs
  • Bundles of the above

Notably, Scenes have matching Objects as well, in the form of entitlements. These, when given to the user, would provide access to the respective Personal Space.

Note

An entitlement to a Public Space would make no sense. The game has no way of restricting the user from entering a Public Space, if not by excluding it from the Navigator.
